Should You Consider Confirmation?

When we are baptized, our parents and god-parents promise to help us live as followers of Christ. Confirmation is a way to affirm those promises for ourselves as adults. Confirmation may also take place as people from other Christian traditions join the Episcopal Church.

We believe that confirmation strengthens the Holy Spirit within us. Thus, people should consider it if they desire to intensify their engagement with their faith. If a person has already been confirmed, but wishes to re-commit to Christ (e.g., after a difficult personal issue or after some time away from church, etc.), they can choose to re-affirm their baptismal promises.

Confirmation is offered once a year in late spring and occasionally in winter as well. Students prepare for confirmation with readings and and study with rector. Contact Deborah Meister for further information.
